KANDUNGAN LOGAM BERAT PADA POLYCHAETA Namalycastis sp. DARI MUARA SUNGAI TERPOLUSI DAN TIDAK TERPOLUSI

Abstract


Namalycastis (Polychaeta: Nereididae) merupakan makrobentos yang hidup di perairan tawar dan estuari. Namalycastis berpotensi sebagai bioindikator. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari kandungan logam berat (Pb, Cd, Cu, Cr dan Ni) dari dalam tubuh Namalycastis perairan terpolusi (Sunda Kelapa, Teluk Jakarta) dan perairan kurang terpolusi (Way Belau, Teluk Betung Lampung). Kandungan logam ditentukan dengan menggunakan metode Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom (SSA). Koleksi Namalycastis yang ditemukan di kedua lokasi terdiri dari 2 spesies, yaitu N. abiuma dan N. cf borealis. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa kandungan logam dalam bagian tubuh Namalycastis dari Sunda Kelapa lebih tinggi dibandingkan dari Way Belau. Kandungan logam tertinggi dalam Namalycastis dari kedua lokasi adalah Cu. Tingginya kadar Cu dalam Namalycastis disebabkan proses akumulasi Cu dari habitatnya serta sifat Cu sebagai logam esensial untuk pertumbuhan dan perkembangan hidup organisme
