Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari upa~a rek~di     air limbala•• rumab tanggaya111; di~f'lll    .melalui/arl,,,.n pipa pembuangdn; ke  sungai yang b_iaaa me1Uadi  sumber polui   air sungai padia .. bebe~. •ko.ta b.aar.   Upo'Yf.' f'el!lamai dila,kaanakande1tllan cam Jierkolaaiair limbah melalui lapi80n biomaa yaitu gambut, aerpih kayu dan kulit kayu eet.bal SO cm. Serpih ddn IHtlit  kayu yang digunakan adalah dari jenis kayu Pinua sylvestril.   ••                       .                 ..

Hasil -nelitian  menunjukkan bahwa kulit kayu memberikan air perkolaai terjernih (tidak be~rna)    dibandinikan dengan• gambut dan se,.Pih kayu  (kuning)."Penurunan  COD  yang cukup  beNrti di~roleh JHlda.penggunaanpniolator kulit  kayu  (10 %)  dan gambut  (50 %). Penurunan   kadar ph°'phat untuk  ketiga perkolatpr gambut menwrunkan, 80~ ~  . kulit kayu 61 % dan aerpih kayu 54 %. Penurunan   kadar amonium bervaria~fantara60 -   10 %, dmaanapenuru,..,. a~ aium pada penggunaan perliolator gambut diikuti peningkatan kadar NO~--N   yang menunjukkan terjadinya nltriffkaei. Perkolator gambut menunjukkan kapaaitaB desinfeksi tertinggi harena dalaift waktu 6_minggri sudah terjadi kematian total koloni fecal streptococci dan fecal coli. Perkolator kulit kayu terendah dalam penurunan junJlah koioni fecal coli.

Penurunan.  COD  dan organik--N untuk  ketiga perkolator lebih tinggi untuk   ,.Hydraalik •l<)ading rate"  (HLR) 10 dibandi111 2,6 crn/hari, •""H -"nu~n   total-N  lebih tinggi pada.
