KESESUAIAN HABITAT ELANG ULAR BIDO (Spilornis cheela LATHAM, 1790) DI KORIDOR HALIMUN SALAK

Deforestasi telah menyebabkan kerusakan habitat dan mengancam kelestarian elang ular bido (Spilornis cheela Latham, 1790). Kesesuaian habitat yang tersisa untuk elang ular bido ini belum diketahui. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk memperoleh informasi tentang faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesesuaian habitat elang ular bido dan menganalisis tingkat kesesuaian habitat Koridor Halimun Salak untuk elang ular bido. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Maret hingga Juli 2014. Pengamatan elang ular bido dilakukan dengan metode point count. Peubah habitat berupa ketinggian tempat, kemiringan lahan, kerapatan tajuk, suhu permukaan serta jarak dari pemukiman, jalan, tepi hutan, sungai dan elang ular bido lain diidentifikasi berdasarkan data  spasial.  Analisis  komponen utama  digunakan untuk  menentukan peubah  utama  yang mempengaruhi kesesuaian habitat elang ular bido. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa peubah utama yang berpengaruh ialah ketinggian tempat dari permukaan laut (x1), jarak dari sungai musim (x2), jarak dari sungai permanen (x3), suhu permukaan (x4), kemiringan lahan (x5) dan jarak dari pemukiman (x6). Persamaan skor kesesuaian habitat yang diperoleh yaitu SKH = 0,849 x1 + 0,846 x2+ 0,748 x3 – 0,871 x4 + 0,810 x5 + 0,719 x6. Kesesuaian habitat di Koridor Halimun Salak terbagi menjadi kesesuaian rendah (27%), kesesuaian sedang (38%) dan kesesuaian tinggi (35%). Koridor Halimun Salak masih berpotensi mendukung keberlangsungan hidup elang ular bido
