Editorial Policies

Focus and Scope

Journal Pemuliaan Tanaman Hutan (JPTH) is an open access and peer-reviewed journal providing authoritative source of scientific information for researchers and academics, research institutions, and government agencies. We publish original research papers, review articles and case studies focused on bioscience encompasses:

  • silviculture,
  • seed,
  • breeding,
  • genetics,
  • biotechnology,
  • pest and disease,
  • physiology, and
  • genetic conservation. 

All papers are peer-reviewed by at least two referees. JPTH is published and imprinted by Center for Forest Biotechnology and Tree Improvement and managed to be issued twice in every volume on June and December.

Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

Every submitted article will be independently reviewed at least by two referees that are expert in the area of the particular paper. The review process applies Double Blind method (reviewers are unaware of the identity of the authors, and authors are also unaware of the identity of reviewers). The decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based upon their reports/recommendation. Reviewing process will consider novelty, objectivity, method, scientific impact, conclusion, and references. After being reviewed, there will be five kinds of editor decision based on reviewer’s recommendation:

A.  Accept Submission: The submission will be accepted without revisions.
B.  Minor Revisions Required: The submission will be accepted after minor changes have been made.
C.  Major Revisions Required: The submission will be accepted after major changes have been made.
D.  Resubmit for Review: The submission needs to be re-worked, but with significant changes, may be accepted. It will require a second round of review, however.
E.  Decline Submission: The submission will not be published in the journal.

In your evaluation, please pay particular attention to the following:

  • The originality of the subject matter, and whether the manuscript would be of interest to the international, academic and practitioners readership of the Jurnal Pemuliaan Tanaman Hutan
  • The theoretical contribution made by the manuscript
  • Whether the manuscript draws on an appropriate range and depth of literature (If not please indicate which sources of literature should be included by the author in future)
  • Whether methods employed are rigorous, ethical, and suitable for the topic under investigation.
  • Whether the findings presented are subjected to suitable analysis and sound conclusions draw
  • Does the manuscript clearly identify any implications for future activism and/or developing theories or activism for peace and social justice? Are these implications consistent with the findings and conclusions of the manuscript?
  • Is the piece well presented and organized? Does the manuscript clearly express its case, measured against the technical language of the field and the expected knowledge of the journal's readership? Has attention been paid to the clarity of expression and readability, such as sentence structure, jargon use, acronyms, etc?  Is the paper written in a manner, which is non-ableist, non-speciesist, non-sexist, non-homophobic, non-classist, non-racist, non-colonialist, unlikely otherwise to cause offense, and appropriate for an international academic journal?

 

Publication Frequency

Jurnal Pemuliaan Tanaman Hutan is a Journal published online twice a year in the middle of the year (June) and in the end of the year (December).

 

Open Access Policy

Jurnal Pemuliaan Tanaman Hutan publishes fully open access journals, which means that all articles are available on the internet to all users immediately upon publication.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Article Processing Charges

Every article submitted to Jurnal Pemuliaan Tanaman Hutan will not have any 'Article Processing Charges'. This includes submitting, peer-reviewing, editing, publishing, maintaining and archiving, and allows immediate access to the full text versions of the articles. Published papers appear electronically and are freely available from our website www.biotifor.or.id.

 

Plagiarsm Check

The editors will run plagiarism check using any tools of plagiarism scanner for the submitted manuscripts before sending to reviewers. We do not process any plagiarised contents. If a manuscript has over 10% of plagiarism based on the result of Tools Plagiarism Scanner check, we will send back the manuscript to the author to be revised for the plagiarised contents.
