PERMUDAAN ALAM HUTAN PRODUKSI BEKAS TEBANGAN DI KABUPATEN MALINAU, KALIMANTAN TIMUR

Penelitian yang dilakukan di hutan hujan tropik  di Kabupaten  Malinau,  Kalimantan Timur  ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi  tentang  kondisi  permudaan alarn (anakan dan  pancang) pada hutan bekas tebangan. Penelitian  dilaksanakan  dengan menghitung jenis, jurnlah, dan dominasi perrnudaan pada hutan bekas tebangan LOA-5, LOA- 10 dan  LOA-30 dan rnembandingkannya dengan  hutan  primer.  Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan anakan sebanyak  1.022 jenis, yang  terdiri  dari  408 genus dan 111  suku, dengan Dipterocarpaceae paling dominan  dibandingkan  dengan suku lain. Tidak terjadi  perbedan yang nyata dalam jumlah jenis dan individu anakan antara lokasi  bekas  tebangan dan hutan  primer. Untuk pancang, ditemukan 802 jenis, 241  genus, dan 65 suku dengan  67 jenis dari  suku Dipterocarpaceae. Tidak  terjadi perbedaan nyata dalam jumlah  individu pancang, sedangkan untuk jumlah jenis, LOA-5 memiliki jumlah yang terbesar yang tidak  berbeda nyata dengan  LOA- 10 dan LOA-30.
