Jenis Asing Invasif: Kiacret (Spathodea campanulata P. Beauv.) di Taman Nasional Bantimurung Bulusaraung, Sulawesi Selatan

Kiacret (Spathodea campanulata P. Beauv) adalah jenis asing invasif yang telah menyebar secara alami terutama pada lahan-lahan tropis lembab di seluruh dunia. Jenis pohon ini memiliki pertumbuhan yang cepat dan dapat mengalahkan jenis-jenis pohon asli yang ada sekitarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui invasi jenis asing Kiacret (Spathodea campanulata P. Beauv) di Taman Nasional Bantimurung Bulusarung (TN Babul). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada dua (2) lokasi (Pattunuang dan Karaenta) di kawasan TN Babul yang sebelumnya pernah menjadi areal penanaman S. campanulata sebagai tanaman reboisasi. Pada kedua lokasi tersebut dibuat jalur selebar 20 m dengan posisi melintang dan membujur (Utara-Selatan dan Timur-Barat) serta persimpangan jalur berada di pusat atau tengah-tengah tegakan Kiacret. Pada seluruh tingkat pertumbuhan terlihat bahwa S. campanulata telah menginvasi dan menyebar jauh keluar dari pusat tegakan sejauh 320 m ke arah Utara, 200 m ke arah Timur, 280 m ke arah Selatan, dan 320 m ke arah Barat pada lokasi Pattunuang sedangkan untuk lokasi Karaenta sejauh 300 m ke arah Utara, 80 m ke arah Timur, 60 m ke arah Selatan, dan 100 m ke arah Barat dari pusat tegakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis ini mampu untuk menggantikan jenis tumbuhan asli, disarankan untuk melakukan pengendalian dan jika memungkinkan mengeradikasi dari kawasan taman nasional.
