Penggunaan Ruang Terbuka Hijau Pabrik PT Polytama Propindo, Indramayu, Sebagai Habitat Burung dan Herpetofauna

Penurunan kelimpahan dan kehilangan jenis pada komunitas burung dan herpetofauna dilaporkan terjadi di area perkotaan. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk mendukung upaya konservasi burung dan herpetofauna di perkotaan adalah membangun ruang terbuka hijau (RTH), seperti di lingkungan pabrik PT Polytama Propindo, Kabupaten Indramayu. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis keanekaragaman jenis burung dan herpetofauna, dan menganalisis penggunaan habitatnya di RTH PT Polytama Propindo. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Juli 2020 di kawasan pabrik PT Polytama Propindo. Pengumpulan data komunitas burung dilakukan dengan metode point count dan pada komunitas herpetofauna secara Visual Encounter Survey dikombinasikan dengan transek. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, indeks keanekaragaman jenis, kemerataan jenis, dan kekayaan jenis pada komunitas burung masing-masing sebesar 2,26; 0,74; 2,73, sedangkan pada komunitas herpetofauna masing-masing sebesar 1,47; 0,70; 1,72. Berdasarkan penggunaan ruang secara vertikal, burung menggunakan strata E, D, dan C, sedangkan pada komunitas herpetofauna terdiri atas kelompok akuatik, arboreal, dan terestrial. Berdasarkan penggunaan ruang secara horizontal, seluruh area pabrik digunakan oleh satwa liar. Berdasarkan penggunaan makanan pada burung, kelompok insektivora dan granivora mendominasi. Sementara itu, penggunaan makanan pada herpetofauna menunjukkan bahwa umumnya pakan tersedia di RTH ini. Implikasi penelitian ini 1) perlu dilakukan monitoring satwa berkala, 2) perlu pengelolaan menyeluruh area pabrik sebagai satu kesatuan habitat, 3) perlu pengayaan vegetasi agar stratifikasi lebih beragam.
