Focus and Scope

Journal of Forest Products Research is an Indonesian scholarly journal that publishes peer-reviewed papers on forest product fields. The journal represents innovative, high quality basic and applied research on the forest product topic. The forest product topics cover:

Peer Review Process

Reviewing process in Journal of Forest Products Research are: 

  1. Manuscript is submitted online through Open Journal System (OJS) of JPHH and it must meet the guideline for author of the Journal of Forest Products Research.
  2. References in text and reference list are formatted in the American Phsycological Association (APA) sixth edition using referencing software of Mendeley or Endnote®. 
  3. Every submitted manuscript will be reviewed by two peer-reviewers.
  4. Every manuscript will be blind reviewed. 
  5. Novelties, objectivity, method accuracy, scientific impact, conclusion, and updated references will be the main consideration in reviewing the manuscript.

 

Publication Frequency

The Journal of Forest Products Research is published four numbers in one volume annually in March, June, September, and December. Each number consists of 5-6 papers and total of 24-28 articles in one volume.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Article Processing Charges

Every manuscript submitted for Journal of Forest Products Research is free of charge. Manuscript submitted online to JPHH Open Journal System (OJS) is gone through every step starting from initial review, reviewing by reviewers, drafting, proof reading and online publishing in the OJS JPHH website and printed publication with no charge. 

 

Plagiarism Check

Every manuscript submitted for the Journal of Forest Products Research is subjected to plagiarism check. 

 

Manuscript Reference Management

Accreditation

Journal of Forest Products Research is an Indonesian scholarly journal which has been accredited by Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI) as periodic scholarly journal since 15 July 2015 with certificate number of 42/AU3/P2MI-LIPI/07/2015. Accreditation scholarly journal is valid through August 2018 and could be extended. 

 

Open Access Journal

Jurnal Penelitian Hasil Hutan (JPHH, Journal of Forest Products Research) is an open access journal. This Journal does not charge any processing fees or shipping charges. All manuscripts submitted to JPHH under the open access publishing model. In this publishing model, all the papers are through a review process by reviewer and under control of editorial team. The manuscript will be published electronically and can be accessed in our website. Authors can also use the pdf of manuscript which has been published for non-commercial use on personal websites or institution’ sites. Users have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of JPHH.

 

Review Guidelines

Please complete the review report form which will be used to directly inform the decision as to the suitability of the manuscript for the Journal of Forest Products Research (JPHH), and to suggest guidelines for any future revisions identified.

In making your report, please ensure that you provide a clear verdict on the paper:

  • Accepted
  • Minor revisions required (the revised manuscript will not normally be returned to you for checking)
  • Major revisions required (you will normally receive the revised manuscript for re-review)
  • Rejected 

Please ensure that you detail your required revisions clearly, and provide an overall evaluation of the paper that is explicit, courteous and respectful to the author(s), and indicative of the standards expected for publication in a journal concerned with Anatomical properties of lignocellulosic materials, Physical and mechanical of lignocellulosic materials, Fiber technology of lignocellulosic materials, Composite board of lignocellulosic materials, Biodeterioration and preservation of lignocellulosic materials, Forest product’s drying technology, Wood sawing and machining, Wood and non-wood forest product’s processing, Chemical based and energy utilization of forest products, Wood science and forest products technology, Forest engineering, Wood and non-wood forest harvesting.

In your evaluation, please pay particular attention to the following: 

  • The originality of the subject matter, and whether the manuscript would be of interest to the national and international, academic and practitioners readership of the Journal of Forest Products Research (JPHH)
  • The theoretical contribution made by the manuscript
  • Whether the manuscript draws on an appropriate range and depth of literature (If not please indicate which sources of literature should be included by the author in future)
  • Whether methods employed are rigorous, ethical, and suitable for the topic under investigation.
  • Whether the findings presented are subjected to suitable analysis and sound conclusions draw
  • Does the manuscript clearly identify any implications for future activism and/or developing theories or activism for peace and social justice? Are these implications consistent with the findings and conclusions of the manuscript?
  • Is the piece well presented and organized? Does the manuscript clearly express its case, measured against the technical language of the field and the expected knowledge of the journal's readership? Has attention been paid to the clarity of expression and readability, such as sentence structure, jargon use, acronyms, etc.  Is the paper written in a manner, which is non-ableist, non-speciesist, non-sexist, non-homophobic, non-classist, non-racist, non-colonialist, unlikely otherwise to cause offence, and appropriate for an international academic journal?

The Journal of Forest Products Research holds to the utmost respect, love, and care when reviewing manuscripts. While we do take off the names of the submitter, we do ask the reviewers to keep their name and e-mail contact on the Reviewer’s Comment Sheet in-order for the author to contact the reviewer directly for assistance and advice. This we feel and argue is the most productive and useful reviewing process for advancing the field of peace studies.

 

JPHH Publishing Process
